So as my school trip comes to an end here in Germany I decided to take a trip and visit General George S. Patton’s burial site along with 5,076 other soldiers at the American Military Cemetery in Hamm, Luxembourg. As I looked at the American Flag flying at half staff I reflected on the last 15 years of my Navy Career and all the countries that I have been to like Italy, Germany, Luxembourg, Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, the different countries in Africa, and the even the ones I haven’t been too like Japan, Korea, Afghanistan, and as I have walked the streets and seen the locals reaction to us being there, some thankful for what we did for their country but others wondering what the hell we are doing walking around their country and I understand why they feel that way!!!! So as your walking the streets this 4th of July and if you’re one of those people wondering why we are still fighting overseas or yelling to bring the troops home I want you to think about how you would like it if one day you walked past German,Iraqi,Afghans,or Korean Military just to name a few because they had Military bases in your neighborhood. I don’t know about you but I’m happy to be here serving my country, protecting my family and fellow Americans while walking around there country rather than them walking around ours. I’M THANKFUL and PROUD to be an AMERICAN and I ask you all to think about all the Men and Women who made the ultimate sacrifice before you have your 4th of July party!!!!!
